Lipa City, Batangas is filled with sadness and disappointments after an alleged MLM scam company stopped its operation without prior notice.
One Dream Global Marketing Incorporated, a networking company which started its operation in Lipa City, Batangas almost two months ago, left members in dismay after operators disappeared without a trace.
Lipa City Mayor Meynard Sabili visited the company’s office after receiving complain from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Sabili said Lipa City members and investors lost almost two billion pesos.
One Dream Global’s business papers says the company deals only on retailing cosmetics and detergent products, but complainants alleged it asked big amount of money and promised to pay big interest in just four days.
According to papers found in One Dream Global’s office, the company also operates in Balayan, Batangas; Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Quezon City; Bolinao, Pangasinan; and other places.
The National Bureau of Investigation is currently looking for the alleged president and owner, Arnel Gaser, and his wife Jovel Gaser, who disappeared without any trace.
Lipa City Government is urging the public to inform police if there is any information leading to the whereabouts of the couple.
Networking scams in the Philippines is not new, but people still believes they can earn money despite government warnings against MLM scams.
Earlier this year, more than P800 million lost when another networking scam, NBO Global stopped its operation. Several people were arrested in connection with the alleged investment scam.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has informed the public to be vigilant and refrain from joining similar companies that promises big investment returns.
SEC earlier has issued several warnings against investing in online pyramid schemes that uses gold as bait, particularly Global Intergold (Emgoldex), and Goldxtreme.
