The world is not what it was a few days ago nor will it remain the same after a few days. The rapid upgradation of technologies in all fields is leading to providing newer and more innovative gadgetry and products; the ways of doing work and business are changing rapidly at a mind-boggling rate.
The effective use of drones by the Americans in Afghanistan has added a potent weapon that is capable of inflicting crippling blows on the adversary where we may not be able to go physically without inviting criticism or condemnation.
While its capability to effectively deliver destructive damage has been more than established it is finding application in other fields; the massive potential is thus being exploited to the full.
The most common applications that are visible nowadays are in:
- Surveying and aerial mapping of locations irrespective of the difficulty of terrain, height, distance etc,
- In construction projects for accessing locations which are not easily reached by other means.
The changeover from human workforce to automations may not always be feasible financially or otherwise but it is difficult to deny that these machines which are capable of replacing a trained human being do have much more to provide in terms of output and uniformity of work.
The utility of drones has become really innovative and is scaling new heights through its being equipped with many powerful gadgets that increase its utility value. Most common among them are the high resolution cameras and other measuring equipment.
The fact that there are limitations with regards to the equipment that it can carry is real but man’s innovative streak gets better of all the challenges through novel solutions and inventions.
But, Drones are here to stay as can be seen from the number of projects all over the world that are adopting these light-weight heavyweights in almost all construction works as per requirements.
Drones are even filling up the void created by a number of requirements; aerial mapping of construction sites and creation of 3-dimensional models through the images provided by the drones.
American and Japanese construction companies are leading the charge with imagery modelling, conducting volumetric measurements to provide data for analyses and finalization of various graphs and specifications for construction objectives.
